The Gallivan Center
A great event location in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City for concerts and festivals, weddings, corporate parties and of course ice skating in the winter.  Gallivan Center programming includes Viva SLC, Rock 'n Ribs, the Lunch Bunch Concert Series, 4Play Concerts along with groups that rent the plaza and offer public events such as the Twilight Concert Series.

Twilight Concert Series
This concert series is provided free of charge by the Salt Lake City Arts Council.  For seven straight Thursdays starting in July, the Gallivan Center rocks with a variety of national artists.

Downtown Alliance
The Downtown Alliance is a non-profit organization serving the downtown property owners, businesses, and residents by promoting Downtown Salt Lake City as the premier cultural, business, economic, and entertainment center throughout the Intermountain West.

Salt Lake Marathon
Sponsored by SLC Corp, the Salt Lake City Marathon was among the 12 new favorites listed by Runner's World in their January 2005 Marathon Guide.

Farmers Market
Held on Saturday's at Pioneer Park, the Downtown Farmers' Market is a local growers’ market, featuring fresh produce from over 70 Utah farmers. In addition to the produce, the Market also offers a variety of fresh baked breads and pastries, cheeses, meat and seafood, jams and honeys, house and garden plants, arranged planters, and numerous handmade arts & crafts. Unique food vendors also are a part of the Market, offering prepared foods and beverages.

Peoples Market
The People’s Market is an opportunity for residents, local growers, and city-wide consumers to come together for good food and great bargains on locally produced items.  The People's Market is held on Sundays at Jordan Park, site of the International Peace Gardens.

Salt Lake International Jazz Festival
This festival has become one of the top destination jazz festivals in the country, attracting visitors from all over the world.  This festival is also a huge local hit with Utah residents.  The event is free and filled with a wide variety of jazz styles including many first-class artists.

Friday Night Flicks -
Nacho Libre - July 18

Our summer movie series is nearly over, only 2 movies remain!  Mark your calendar for July 18 where we'll be showing the recent hit comedy - Nacho Libre!  Put on your "stretchy pants" and join us at Rotary Glen Park just east of Hogle Zoo for free popcorn, text trivia and more!

The 2nd Annual 5K Fun Run is coming soon (Sept. 6th)- start getting ready now!

SLC Gets Fit will culminate its 12 week exercise tracking program with the Second Annual 5K Fun Run. Following the run, prizes will be awarded not only to our 5K participants, but to the winning teams in our online tracking as well.

The run will be open to all ages and abilities. It’s not about winning, it’s about fun, exercise, and meeting your own personal 5K goal. It’s all about getting out and getting fit!

Pioneer Park Picnic Series

This August, Pioneer Park will be the site of a new lunchtime concert series.  From noon to 1pm on weekdays (Monday through Friday), local musicians will be performing on a temporary stage - all for FREE!  Close to downtown restaurants, hotels and businesses, Pioneer Park is a great place to enjoy a relaxing lunch while catching a lunchtime show!
